Non-Executive Chair & Board Advisory

Board-level leadership for Microsoft-ecosystem technology businesses.

Why MacOne

What a portfolio company gets on its board.

PE houses bring me in where the Microsoft relationship, the partner economics, or the path to a services-led exit is central to the value creation plan.

01

Microsoft ecosystem fluency

Board-level and executive experience inside Microsoft itself, plus operating a Microsoft-specialist MSP through its own PE cycle — I know how co-sell, alliance economics and partner strategy actually work from both sides of the table.

02

Scale & transformation

Direct experience turning a traditional reseller into a multi-skilled, automation-led MSP — rebuilding the commercial model, the go-to-market and the recurring revenue base along the way.

03

PE-cycle governance

Comfortable with the discipline a PE-backed board demands — investment cases, M&A integration, and exit readiness — having led a business through investment, acquisitions and a 2025 merger.

Board & Advisory

What I take onto a board.

A Non-Exec Chair or NED role from me comes with operating experience at the scale most portfolio companies are trying to reach — not just governance oversight.

  • Private equity relationships — direct experience being the operating leader a PE investor holds to account, and now sitting alongside them as Chair.
  • M&A integration — acquisitions across four countries and a completed trade merger, from due diligence through to integrated operations.
  • Corporate governance — board and investor relations built over a decade of P&L accountability at Microsoft and as CEO.
  • Go-to-market & channel — partner, alliance and enterprise sales strategy across global ecosystems, most recently a $500M EMEA channel business.
  • Global expansion — opening and scaling operations in the USA, Australia, Singapore and South Africa.

Sector Focus

Built for the Microsoft ecosystem.

Most of my board time is spent with businesses whose growth is tied to Microsoft — as a partner, a platform, or both. That's deliberate.

Partner Economics

Co-sell & alliance strategy

Ran Microsoft's own channel and alliance functions at UK and Western Europe level, then built a Microsoft-specialist MSP from the partner side — I can read a co-sell motion and a partner P&L with equal fluency.

Identity & AI

Security as the control plane

Currently chairing a Microsoft-specialist Identity & Access Management business navigating the shift to identity as the foundation for enterprise AI deployment — live exposure to where the category is heading.

Managed Services

VAR-to-MSP transformation

Led the commercial and cultural rebuild of a reseller into an automation- and services-led MSP, first-hand experience of the model most Microsoft partners are now trying to make work.

Platform Depth

Microsoft, inside and out

A decade in Microsoft leadership — UK COO, Western Europe GM — followed by a decade running a Microsoft partner business, giving a board a rare view from both sides of the relationship.
